Let's be honest, one of the reasons a lot of us were drawn to essential oils in the first place is because they smell good! Even if they didn't provide us such amazing health benefits, we would probably still love to diffuse them solely for the delicious aroma many of them have. So, how do you know which diffuser is right for you? Read on for my tips on selecting the perfect diffuser.
Types of Diffusers
There are two different types of diffusers available, ultrasonic and nebulizer. Ultrasonic diffusers are the most popular choice for many people because they are quiet, cost-friendly, and they use less essential oil than nebulizer diffusers. Nebulizers definitely have their place however, as they provide an intense distribution of essential oils into the air, without the use of water or heat.
The Petal Diffuser is a great option for small areas, such as a bedroom or office space. It is attractive and small, yet it has a high mist output and can easily diffuse in spaces up to 330 square feet. This diffuser runs for up to 4 hours. The Petal's ease-of-use makes it a great option for daily use.
Aroma Lite diffuser
This diffuser is perfect for those who are on-the-go all the time! The Aroma Lite's small size and multiple settings are ideal for traveling, as well as for use bedside. I really like the 8-hour setting so I can diffuse essential oils all night, which is helpful for my insomnia. The Aroma Lite covers up to 500 square feet, so it works well for hotel rooms and larger bedrooms.
Moving on to my personal favorite, the Lotus Diffuser is the diffuser of choice for those looking for both a beautiful and highly effective diffuser. The Lotus looks great in a massage room, yoga studio, or spa setting, and can cover up to 330 square feet for 1 hour continuously, or alternating between running 30 seconds and resting 15 seconds for an hour. With a therapeutic blue light, the Lotus can also be used in a bedroom, adding a unique look to your décor. Also, with the Lotus Diffuser, you do hear the water bubbling quietly, which I find to be therapeutic sounding.
This nebulizer diffuser, the Aroma-Ace™ Diffuser, covers the most area (600-800 square feet) with the highest concentration of essential oil. The Aroma-Ace™ is a good choice for doctors offices, or homes where air purification is needed, such as when cold and flu germs are going around! You attach the bottle of essential oil directly to the diffuser, so it's easy to use and control.
